I don’t profess to be the biggest SATC fan - I can’t tell you which season the trip to Atlantic City happened in, or the names of any episodes, or any of Carrie’s romantic entanglements except for Big, Aiden and Alexsandr Petrovsky. I’ve watched the series end-to-end twice, and have opted into the mild torture of AJLT (RIP), but the cultural and fashion importance of SATC (and Patricia Field!) is not to be underestimated.
With a 10 hour flight ahead of me, no WiFi (my favourite) Freaky Friday and Oceans 12 knocked off, I turned to a familiar favourite: the SATC movie. Having known the plot inside out and sideways, I was laser focused on the fashion. What with fashion trend cycles shortening, and Patricia Field (stylist for the film and original series) being a genius, I found myself jotting down a few items to hunt down when I landed.
